The Upstate’s best kept secret is out – you have to visit The Red Horse Inn in Landrum, S.C.
Asher and I decided to visit a few weeks ago and fell in love with the scenery.
Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and about 45 minutes from downtown Greenville, S.C., The Red Horse Inn boasts exquisite views and southern charm and is heralded as “one of America’s most romantic inns” by Travel and Leisure.
The inn has options for both rooms and cottages and is also a wedding venue. The most recent venture has been their wine bar and food truck, open to the inn guests as well as the public.
The wine bar, including the live music and seating area, is located on the terrace overlooking the mountains.
And while the place is beautiful and the people are so welcoming and kind, my favorite part might be Phinney, the little Juliana pig. Phinney roams around the premises, and it is THE CUTEST THING.
Next time you’re in the Upstate, I highly recommend visiting The Red Horse Inn for an overnight stay, the wine bar, the food truck, the views, or just because you like pigs. Let Phinney know we sent you.
