Our luxury stay at Ca’s Xorc in Sóller, Mallorca, Spain

Hidden among the mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana, Ca’s Xorc serves as a peaceful getaway on the island of Mallorca, Spain.

The winding mountain path once led to a former oil mill that now serves as a solace for travelers in the town of Sóller. The grounds are polka-dotted with olive and lemon groves, and the main guest house is beautifully perched in the center of the property.

Upon arrival, guests are invited to relax with a glass of lemonade made from Ca’s Xorc’s own lemons.

Once Asher and I arrived, we found it hard to leave. We spent time exploring the Mediterranean landscape and going for a swim in the infinity pool overlooking the mountains and sea. We also meandered through the common areas and admired the stone house — it’s truly jaw-dropping.

Ca’s Xorc focuses on quality and sustainability, keeping its ecological footprint small and giving back to nature around them. In fact, the hotel’s restaurant, Barretes Restaurant, has its own vegetable and herb garden.

Barretes Restaurant at Ca’s Xorc Luxury Retreat

Our dinner at Barretes Restaurant was a highlight of our food experience on Mallorca. The restaurant serves local and seasonal food and prides itself on presentation—every dish is a work of art. Asher and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal on the terrace overlooking the Sóller Valley.

I ordered the boneless lamb shoulder with an ensaimada (a pastry from the Balearic Islands), glazed onions and vegetables with a carrot purée. Asher opted for the fresh pasta “tagliatelle” with lobster, burrata and baked tomatoes. And for dessert, we had the chocolate fondue with strawberries and sorbet in a white chocolate soup. Hats off to Chef Pep Lluís “Barretes”.

The surrounding area

Between the food and the beauty that is Ca’s Xorc, you could spend your entire vacation at the luxury retreat. But you would also be missing out on some of the island’s most beautiful towns. The hotel is 20 minutes away from both Sóller and Port de Sóller.

You can find my travel guide to Mallorca here. We highly recommend Ca’s Xorc and the island of Mallorca for your next bucket list adventure.
