Our kitchen updates

Two words – green cabinets. I’m all about white, bright and airy – NOT dark green. But I have to admit, the green cabinets have grown on me.

Side note: The half bath was also painted a deep green. If you know me, you know it’s already been painted white.

Currently, the kitchen is my favorite place in the house, mainly because it’s the only room in the house that’s finished. We added a fresh coat of Simply White paint by Benjamin Moore, took down some shelves and added some art.

The Shelves

The shelves might just be one of my favorite things. I love, love, LOVE the amber glasses with the dark green (I borrowed the glasses from my mom two years ago and never gave them back – oops). I added some vintner wine glasses for height and of course, all my fun cups (my weakness whenever I go to Anthropologie).

The Art

My maw maw gave me the Paris prints. When she worked in the family beauty shop, a well-traveled customer brought her back artwork from the streets of Paris (I LOVE stories like that). The fruit print by Jillian Darville Art was a gift from Asher. I love all that Jillian does, and eventually, more of our walls will be filled with her art.

The Thrifted Buffet

We found our buffet at Habitat for Humanity in Gastonia, N.C. We lined the shelves and added new knobs from Hobby Lobby (similar ones here). It’s the perfect place for our coffee cups (we have A LOT). I love a good thrifted find!
