We bought a house! I CANNOT BELIEVE I JUST TYPED THOSE WORDS (our realtor probably can’t believe it either LOL). Someone pinch me.
We received the sweetest text from our realtor friend (I say that because after almost two years of looking at homes together, I think she qualifies as both), Tammy Woodbury, a few weeks ago when she told us our offer was accepted.
Her text said, “Do you really think that the Lord would lead you back to the same house one year later if he did not want you to have it? I’m not even asking that rhetorically… Totally serious with that question! Because in all of my wild real estate experiences, never have I had anything like this happen!”
About a year and a half ago, Asher and I made our first offer on a home in Fountain Inn, S.C. We didn’t get it.
Since then, we’ve compared every home we’ve seen to the Fountain Inn house. A few weeks ago, I was looking at Zillow and the house popped up as sale. I remember looking at Asher and saying, “Um. The Fountain Inn house is back. What should we do?”
The rest is history.
Asher and I have prayed and prayed for both contentment where we are and for a house. God has opened every single door for us. He was working – we just couldn’t see it.
After we closed on the house, we walked out to see the sellers. When I told them who we were, the man stood up and said, “We prayed for you this morning.” How sweet is that?
During the house hunt, I told Asher I wanted a home with character, one that told a story. Well, here’s the beginning of our story, and I can’t wait to see what this house holds for us.
