Our August 2019 wedding

Our second anniversary is coming up on August 25! I can’t believe it’s already been two years. I would give anything to relive our wedding day – it was perfect!

To celebrate our anniversary, I thought I’d share some of the people that helped make our wedding so special.

We both wanted an intimate wedding with our closest family and friends, so we kept our guest list small. In a way, I feel like it made our wedding more special and relaxing for us. We were able to enjoy each other and our people.

Our Venue

For our venue, we chose Ritchie Hill, a historic white house with a large porch in Concord, North Carolina. We got married in the back of the property and had the reception on the porch. My favorite part was our first dance in front of the house with our friends and family watching from the porch.

Ritchie Hill was not only beautiful, but it also fit with the family-oriented, intimate feel we were going for. And the staff were so kind and helpful. They were the best people to work with!

Our Invitations & Wedding Program

At this point, I feel like I could be the sole advertiser for Jillian Darville Art. She painted our invitations and wedding program. I also have her paintings of our wedding bouquet (a gift from my mom and dad), my cat (don’t judge me), Ritchie Hill and her fruit print hanging in our home. She is AMAZING. And her graphic designer friend, Caroline, did a wonderful job on our invitations and program. I can’t say enough good things.

Our Photographer

Our photographer, Sophie Brendle Photography, was the first person we booked! We LOVED working with Sophie. She’s such a talented photographer and an amazing person. She took all our awkwardness on camera and made something beautiful. And that, my friends, is called talent.

Our Videographer

I went to college with our videographer, Savannah Hovis. I literally gave her no direction other than, “Hey, can you make a video of our wedding?” And can I just say that it’s the best thing I have ever seen? She was so much fun to have around on our wedding day and did an wonderful job.

Breakfast for Dinner

Our food was some of the best food I’ve ever had. Megan and her team at H&M Catering nailed it. We had mini scones and muffins at the lemonade hour, and biscuits, fruit, quiche, potatoes, bacon, and grits for dinner. Those were the best grits I have ever put in my mouth. I still think about them sometimes. They were THAT good.

Our Dishes & Sweetheart Table

This was my favorite detail of our wedding. Evermore Event Company is a mother-daughter duo specializing in classic and vintage rentals. We visited their warehouse and picked out every piece we wanted, including our sweetheart table and chairs, goblets, plates, silverware, vintage dishes for our lemonade hour, and more. They have everything. And as I’ve said before, they were such a joy to work with.

Our Florist

Pressly at Renfrow Farms in downtown Matthews, N.C. designed all the flowers. for my bouquet, the toss bouquet, our cake, our floral hoops, and the tables. She was so easy to work with. I told her all the flowers I wanted, and she executed every piece perfectly.

Our Wedding Planner

I worked with Jenna and Faith from Seeded Events and Design for our day-of planning. We had a great experience! Since then, Seeded has grown and they offer full-service wedding planning and floral designs. All they do is beautiful, and the girls are so sweet!

The Cake & Cupcakes

Suárez Bakery made our cake and cupcakes, and it was SO GOOD. We did a semi-naked carrot cake and cupcakes of all sorts of flavors (which were a big hit with our guests).

Hair & Makeup

Cali from Cali Stott Artistry did the best job on my hair and makeup. Plus she is SO MUCH FUN to work with! I’m not exaggerating when I say that girl is a ray of sunshine. She executed exactly what I had in mind for my wedding day look. I couldn’t say enough good things about her.

I want to hear from you! Tell me all about your wedding in the comments.
