We finished my favorite place in our house – the art nook.
Everyone loves a good before and after, so let’s start there. To be honest, I didn’t realize how much work we’d done until I saw these.
I spend most of my time in the art nook when I’m not on our porch. It was important to me to have a space where I can work on graphic design freelance, my blog and other creative outlets. And yes, some *might* call this space an office, but that sounded way too formal for a place with paint on the desk.
I practically live in this room. I eat breakfast here while I watch the cardinals on the feeder outside the window, and I even painted here while watching the snowfall last winter (yes, it WAS dreamy).
And if you’re asking, “What’s behind the magic curtain?” Well, friend, that would be our laundry room. The glam and glory had to stop somewhere.
We made some changes when we moved in – a fresh coat of simply white on the walls, new light fixture, touch-ups on the trim, and some caulk and paint on the ceilings. I’m not going to lie to you, 50 Cent got me through those late nights of caulking.
We also sanded and painted the side walls, which was the original exterior of the house. The art nook is really an enclosed porch.
So here’s to finishing one more room in our house! It’s a slow process, but well worth it.
