One of the many reasons I love living in Greenville, S.C. is all the gems surrounding the city. We decided to make it a date day and visited two places about 30-40 minutes from the city.

Elimination diets are becoming a fad – take Whole30 for example. It’s a time to detox your body and get back on track by eating non-processed whole foods. I decided to go on an elimination diet (similar to Whole30) for thyroid reasons (the glorious Hashimoto’s disease).

My Aunt Carlotta’s German chocolate cake has become a Christmas staple. We visit my maw maw’s house every year on Christmas Eve. Her kitchen counters are always full of sweets like magic cookie bars, fruitcake cookies (don’t knock it ‘til you try it), apple cake, cinnamon nuts and the star of the show – German chocolate cake.
Visiting Christmas Town USA, or commonly referred to as McAdenville, N.C., is by far one of the most festive things to do at Christmas time.
